Kevin Van De Wege for State Senate
"I’m excited to announce my candidacy to the State Senate. It’s an opportunity to keep working on creating family wage jobs and keeping the ones that we have, championing our public schools, and working to keep improving the quality of life for every resident on the Olympic Peninsula and in Grays Harbor,” said Kevin Van De Wege.
Kevin Van De Wege currently serves as Majority Whip with the House Democratic Caucus. He also serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee, Health Care Committee, Rules Committee and is a member of the House Commerce and Gaming Committee.
In 2016 Van De Wege primed numerous pieces of legislation that were passed into law. HB 2545 banned harmful flame retardant chemicals from being used in Washington State, HB 1763 protected small businesses in Washington State from predatory bill collector practices, and HB 2317 helped a small business in Port Townsend get started by eliminating impeding red tape.
Van De Wege is a firefighter in Sequim where he lives with his wife Jennifer, a high school teacher, and their two children, Allison and Jackson.
